What
happens during a Shiatsu session?
The treatment will normally start with the therapist asking you a detailed medical
history in order to build up a complete picture of your state of health.
Shiatsu is given through clothing. Please bring or wear
loose, warm, comfortable clothing, preferably cotton, e.g.
sweatshirt, tracksuit trousers and cotton socks.
You normally lie on a futon, a Japanese cotton mat, on your
front, back or side. However, if required, a chair can be
used. The room will be peaceful, warm and comfortable.
Do not eat heavily in the two hours prior to treatment.
Do not drink alcohol before or after treatment.
After treatment drink plenty of water to smooth the flow
of changes through the system. If at all possible avoid strenuous
or stressful activities after your session.
How will I feel after a treatment?
After a treatment you will probably feel invigorated yet relaxed. While some
specific symptoms may take longer to improve, the overall feeling of well
being is usually enhanced.
