Therapies > Reflexology
This is a method for activating the healing powers of the body. It is both old and new; from ancient texts and illustrations we know that the early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet to promote and maintain good health. Today many of these same techniques have been developed into a modern scientific method called Reflexology.
Reflexology activates the healing powers of the body

What joins the ancient and modern is the long established principle that there are energy zones that run throughout the body and reflex areas in the feet that correspond to all the major organs, glands and systems of the body.

Specific pressure techniques are applied to the feet where all the internal body structures and organs are mirrored in miniature. It helps the body maintain a delicate balance between all the systems. If these systems work together in harmony they keep us in a good state of health. If the energy flow through the zones of the body is blocked, disorder or illness can occur.

Treatment
It is necessary to have 3 initial treatments at weekly intervals to establish whether it is the right therapy for you. If it feels right and you have a specific condition you want treated, a course of 6 - 8 sessions at weekly intervals is recommended.

If you find Reflexology suits you as a method of relaxing, a treatment once a month could be right for you as part of your lifestyle.

You do not need to undress for reflexology, just remove your socks.

Benefits
Reflexology can:-

  • reduce stress and induce deep relaxation
  • help improve circulation
  • help to cleanse the body of toxins and impurities
  • balance the whole system
  • help re-vitalise energy
  • facilitate healing, but is not a cure in itself
