The Oakington Therapy Centre developed from the Cottenham based Osteopathic practice established by Roger Giddings in 1984. To cope with the increasing number of patients requiring osteopathy, Roger was joined by Richard Starmer-Jones. Further expansion saw the addition of a third Osteopath in 1992.

By 1994 the team had enlarged to include a Homeopath - Joel Jaffey, an Acupuncturist - Tony Sugden and an Aromatherapist.

Having moved to its own separate and larger premises, still at Oakington, the Centre has continued to grow as people appreciate the benefits of complimentary medicine and the very high standards found at the Oakington Therapy Centre.

The centre now has the following therapies - Osteopathy, Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Massage, La Stone Massage, Medical Herbalism, Shiatsu, Hopi Ear Candling, Aromatherapy and Reflexology, Sports Rehabilitation and Massage, Podiatry(Chiropody), Iridology, Food Allergy Testing, Nutrition, Counselling, Pilates, Hypnotherapy, NLP,Reiki and Trigger Points(Myofascial Pain Syndrome).

It is our aim to provide the highest quality treatment within a relaxed and friendly environment. Patients are encouraged to ask questions and to fully understand the treatment they are receiving.

The practice has developed as an integrated approach to therapy where we aim to assess which type of treatment may be most appropriate for each particular person to enhance their specific recovery. Many problems can be dealt with by one therapy but we have found that sometimes a mix of therapies provides a more efficient treatment regime. Either separately or in combination, the treatments are used to normalise body function and encourage the patients own natural healing processes to restore health.

People are always amazed at the wide range of ages and conditions that are treated at the Centre - from babies with colic, developmental problems in children, pregnant mums, chronic or acute back problems, headaches & migraines, ME, sports injuries to arthritic joints in the elderly.
